Year 5 2026 - 2027
We have completed our first half term and are ready for another! This half term is always busy with Christmas just around the corner. The children have settled into their new class well and should be ready to continue on their Year 5 journey.
They will realise this half term how important their times table knowledge is as we will be doing lots of fractions and discovering how our times tables knowledge applies.
It is our turn to attend weekly outdoor learning sessions in our Learning Wood. Please make sure your children are appropriately dressed for outdoors as we will be out there in all weathers. Waterproofs, wellies and warm, old clothes are advised.
The Year 5 staff team include myself, Mrs McDonnell and Mrs Morgan, who is in class of a morning.
We are all raring to go to help and support your child develop and support them with the Year 5 curriculum.
P.E. is on a Monday afternoon, please make sure your child arrives wearing the appropriate school P.E. kit for the weather.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and is expected to be completed by the following Friday. Spelling tests will be on a Friday. This year your child will not have the daily opportunity to go onto devices to access TTR. This is expected to be done at home, a full 30 minutes over the week to ensure they keep that times tables knowledge fresh in their minds!
Please make sure that your child's lunch has been chosen on the app as we will no longer be able to choose it for them in class.
